    Addressing Student Mail

    All mail from University of South Carolina departments should follow the guidelines for student mail as outlined below:

    • When addressing envelopes to students, use the following format:

      Letter size envelopes, parcels, post cards

    Jane E Doe (first name, middle initial, last name)

    USC Box 8xxxx (5 digit box number)

    Campus Envelopes

    From:  USC Postal Services (Department Name)

    To:  Jane E Doe (First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name)

    Department:  USC Box 8xxxx (5 digit box number)

    • Include the student's middle initial in the name because we do have students with the same first an last name.
    • Seal all envelopes.  This will insure privacy for the student.
    • Tuck all flaps in on Campus envelopes.
    • Envelopes must be in ascending USC Box number order.  This will expedite the placement of mail
